GUIDE FOR PREPARING A RESUME

Your resume is your introduction to a prospective employer and makes your first impression. Be concise and clear and keep it short: no more than two pages. It should be in the 3rd person and typed. Highlight qualifications that are related to the job you seek and emphasize any supervisory responsibilities.

Address & phone (Only add fax & e-mail if easily accessible).
Year and country of birth; year of aliya, family status, etc.

Education
Details of study: List highest level first. Include all degrees or certificates and major studies. Include courses separately if it is relevant to your profession. Show inclusive dates.

Example
University of Illinois, USA: B.S. Industrial Engineering; l998-2002
Ort College, Karmiel: Electronic Practical Engineering; 1994-1996

Courses: ABC college, Kiryat Yam: AutoCAD 2008

Include any honors you may have received or exceptional grade averages. List publications separately.

Experience
List all employment chronologically beginning with current position and going back. Include dates, position, name of company, duties and responsibilities as well as achievements and level of responsibility. But be direct...
don't ramble! Stick to the facts!

Example
2004-2009; XYZ company, Nahariya- Project Engineer; In charge of production in the plastics division; supervised a department of 10. Established new operations systems working in conjunction with the computer division.

Military Service
Dates, branch, rank and duties

Special Skills
Examples: computers, technical ratings, etc.

Languages
Level of fluency; speaking, writing, reading and typing proficiency
